MORRIS INDUSTRIES LTD.

“It’s a matter of doing the right thing at the right time”, stated George Morris (1904 – 1989), founder of Morris Industries Ltd.  For over 80 years the company has built a reputation for excellence by understanding the needs of farmers.

This commitment led to the development of the world’s first automatic trip release in 1929, enabling farmers working stony land to greatly increase the life of their tillage equipment.  This breakthrough in engineering has become an industry standard, used to this day throughout the world.

Morris Industries Ltd. recognized the importance of conservation and efficiency, by developing the revolutionary Morris Seed-Rite Hoe Drill which combined the functions of the cultivator, seed drill and rod weeder in a single implement.  This dramatically reduced costs for farmers and helped prevent soil erosion and moisture loss.

Throughout the years MORRIS has continued to be an industry leader with the development of innovative, simple to use, farm equipment.  In recent years, the introduction of the EIGHT Series Air Cart significantly enhanced the functionality and options which farmers had for seeding their crops.  In 2007, the Contour Drill was introduced which provides for increased crop yields as a result of precise seed placement.

On June 8, 2007, after 78 years of operation as a family held business Morris Industries Ltd. was sold to Casey Davis.  Casey had served as President and CEO from 2001 until 2006.

Since that time MORRIS has expanded its line of bale hauling equipment by acquiring ProAG Designs, Inc., a Montana based premier manufacturer of large bale hauling and stacking machines.  Morris Industries Ltd. has now become an international company selling its product in many countries throughout the world including the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Kazakhstan & Russia.

The commitment George Morris had to products and company values remains steadfast.  Through research and development, grower input, high standard of quality control and customer service, Morris Industries Ltd. continues to be dedicated to providing products and services to farmers throughout the world.

Morris Industries Ltd. was pleased to provide a reproduction in recognition of its 80th year of business to the many businesses they associated with over the years.
