Rob Froese is a contemporary ceramic artist, whose work integrates delicate forms with rich surfaces and unique strong brushwork and mark making.

Rob’s process of making ceramics represents a potentially rich time lapse that allows him to record stages of change and transformation of the original material through spontaneous and direct interventions. The imprints and indications of these actions merge decisiveness and subtlety into pieces that are as appealing for their use as for their contemplation.

Raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Rob came to ceramics through a route of travel, work, and art studies. He has maintained studios and held numerous exhibitions of his work in Canada and Japan since 1998.

Rob’s formal studies include a B.A (Art, English) from the University of Saskatchewan, a B.F.A (Ceramics) from the University of Regina, and M.F.A in Craft Media program at the Alberta College of Art & Design in Calgary. He currently resides in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
