David & Rau’s French style rolling pins are individually turned by hand and softly tapered at the ends rather than an abrupt angle which allows you to rock the pin slightly for feathering out the edges of a pie crust. At 21-1/2″ long they are easy to use and wide enough to span over a crust without your hands dragging on the dough. The wood we choose has a bit of grain or tooth to hold the flour so that the pins don’t stick to the pasta or pie dough.
The pin you receive may not be exactly the one in the photo as we have many on hand, but they are all of equal quality. Sanded down to 400 grit and treated with a light coat of mineral oil and beeswax.
