Connie Chaplin is the Owner and Artist at Hansen-Ross House Artists Residence Inc. in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan.
Connie Chaplin is a textile artist and potter focused on processes rooted in materials and forces with nature. She uses techniques drawn from intercultural craft traditions, refreshing age-old methods with botanical dyeing, indigo, batik and shibori techniques.
Connie divides her time between her studio and gallery in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan and Port Alberni, British Colombia where she forages leaves and flora for her natural dye processes.
WHAT IS ECO PRINTING OR ECO DYEING?
Eco Printing (also called Leaf Printing and Eco Dyeing) is a form of natural dyeing where the colors or natural dyes from plant materials are transferred to another object such as paper or fabric via steaming or boiling.
