The canvas is acid-free with a varnish finish designed for long-term, fade resistant fine art. The watercolour paper is made of 100% cotton linters with traditional matte finish also designed for long term, fade-resistant reproductions.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<h5><strong>Standing Strong<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Since the 1880\u2019s, the traditional wood grain elevator has been an icon doting the skyline of the prairies. By the 1930\u2019s, over 3200 elevators had been built. In 1999, only 304 remained.<\/p>\n<p>This Saskatchewan Wheat Pool elevator was the second elevator built in Spring Valley. The first one was built in 1925 but was destroyed by fire on August 22, 1963. The elevator in this painting was moved from Pickthall as soon as the site was cleaned. This elevator opened for business in the early fall of the same year and remained open till 1985.
