P – The prairie has the pattern of a patchwork quilt

“The Snowbirds are Canada’s precision military aerobatic team based out of Canadian Forces Base (15 Wing) Moose Jaw.  Who gets a better view of the prairies than these pilots?  Watching the team perform is like watching a ballet in the air.  See how tight their formation is?  There are five planes in this picture.  Can you find them?

– Jo Bannatyne-Cugnet

This painting is one of 26 paintings reproduced in “A Prairie Alphabet” – an awarding winning children’s book written by Jo Bannatyne-Cugnet and published by Tundra Books. It was the winner of the Mr. Christie’s Book Award for Best Canadian Children’s Book for Illustration in 1992.
