When I titled this painting “One Step at a Time“, it triggered a memory of some very wise words my parents wrote down in my autograph book on my birthday when I turned 17.
“The world is like a sheet of white untrodden snow. Be careful how you tread it, for each step will show!”
To this day, these words are always at the back of my mind and have reminded me of the guidance my parents provided for me.
As others have viewed the painting, they all have a different reaction as to the feelings it brings out.
To some it’s the accomplishment of those steps taken, to others it’s the unknown on the other side of the hill, and for many – its just the enjoyment of a peaceful walk through a patch of newly fallen snow.
