MAY – THE MOnth TO PLANT
“Prairie farmers will tell you that May is their favorite month. It is the beginning of a new crop year. Everywhere you look farmers are out in the field. Early pioneers were content to seed five acres a day. Nowadays, with modern equipment, farmers can seed more than 200 acres a day. But one thing has not changed. Each time a farmer plants a crop it is an act of faith. Faith that the rains will come, that the sun will shine and that the farmer will be there to harvest the best crop ever.”
