Blue Bird Cafe – Butler’s Fish & Chips
Located at Regina Beach, Saskatchewan, this popular family owned and operated café has been entertaining guests since 1928. Originally purchased by Maurice and Priscilla (Ella) Butler, the Blue Bird Café has continued to serve home cooked meals and their specialty family recipe “fish & chips” for over eighty years.
In the following years, the “Blue Bird Café—Butler’s Fish & Chips” became a favourite hangout and destination for both the Regina Beach residents and people from towns and cities all around. Although many changes in the town have occurred, the restaurant has remained in the Butler family since the beginning.
For as much enjoyment as the Butler’s have had in serving their customers, I am sure that customers have also passed down the same pride in creating their own family traditions of visiting “Butler’s Fish & Chips” year after year. Customers fill the front steps, booths and stools inside anxiously awaiting the arrival of their order or wait to hear their name called for their fix of fish & chips. Just like the old days, whether with family or friends—the “Blue Bird Café – Butler’s Fish & Chips” has and always will keep a warm place in our hearts and our memories of good times, good people and beautiful summer nights.
