Born in Manchester, England, Kathy emigrated to Canada in 1968, first to the Northeastern Shield area of Manitoba and later to the family farm in Lafleche, Saskatchewan. Today, Kathy and her husband call Moose Jaw home.
Kathy has worked in many art mediums throughout her career, namely: clay, glass, raku, watercolours, oils and now bronze.
Kathy has spent her early years working solely in clay and raku, perfecting her technique on the wheel, designing both functional-ware and artistic creations. She specialized for years in hand sculpting theme angels and figurines of various genres – most of heartwarming memories and nostalgic times.
Her recent bronze works are a culmination of a lifelong dream and passion for art and creativity in all its forms. Some of her best bronze and clay sculptures – “Resilience” and “Vincent” can be viewed at the Shurniak Gallery in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan.
